Going into 2021, Safety Remains a Key Priority

As we enter 2021, safety remains a key priority across most major industries, especially real estate, construction, renovation and property management – as onsite teams work to keep high-touch areas sanitized.

The current environment continues to include hurdles for most, as contractors, building owners, facility operators, and managers work to keep spaces clean and safe. In these efforts, one tool many have turned to is the electrostatic sprayer. Electrostatic spraying works by applying a positive charge to liquid disinfectants as they pass through a spraying nozzle. The positively charged disinfectant attracts to negatively charged, nonporous surfaces, cleaning high-touch areas quickly and efficiently. These sprayers, which come in several different formats (e.g., rolling, backpack, handheld models) are designed to cover large surface areas.

The electrostatic spraying method of cleaning and disinfecting remains a key tool in professionals’ arsenals, as the technology allows for improved coverage at a fraction of the time of traditional cleaning methods. As all Pros have transitioned to disinfecting surfaces daily – imagine just how much time electrostatic sprayers are saving?

To support Pros across industries, The Home Depot Pro is continuing to push and provide product innovations that make disinfecting spaces easier, more efficient and cost effective. In this pursuit, we have launched two new products designed specifically with the Pro customer and current environment in mind.

In September, The Home Depot Pro launched the RYOBI™ 18V ONE+™ Cordless 1 Gallon Electrostatic Sprayer, available exclusively at The Home Depot. This commercial-grade electrostatic sprayer, which comes with a comfortable mesh backpack that holds the 1 Gallon tank, was developed to save Pros money and time, as it offers a consistent charge for quicker and more thorough coverage of surfaces, while using less chemicals than other sprayers. At its highest setting, the sprayer can emit 160-micron droplets up to 10 feet.

On the heels of this launch, we introduced anothergame changer in the cleaning space with the RYOBI™ ONE+™ 18-Volt Cordless Handheld Electrostatic Sprayer. This model is also available for professionals only throughThe Home Depot.

Developing a product that addressed the needs of Pros meant creating an electrostatic sprayer that is extremely effective, easy to use and affordable. In product development, this translated to creating an ergonomic and balanced design that reduces user fatigue by outfitting the sprayer with a back-loaded battery and sleek 1 liter tank. Additionally, the model comes with an 18-Volt ONE+ battery – a battery and charger that are compatible with more than 175 other RYOBI ONE+™ cordless tools that many Pros already have on hand. Lastly, and most importantly, we launched this handheld sprayer at nearly half the price of other battery-powered, handheld sprayers – allowing teams to arm multiple members with sprayers for increased safety on-site.
